The constitution has gifted our children “The right to education” from the day they take birth in this country. But some schools and institutions take advantage of this right and run fake businesses to earn crores. They run schools where there are no basic facilities or where even girl child is not promoted to receive the education.
Boosting the health and energy of toddlers’ bodies and brains brings multiple benefits. But too often there are methods which are wrongly adopted.
Bulakabya, a hamlet hacked out of sugar-cane fields in Uganda, has no primary schools or nurseries where small children are imparted education and training. This isn’t because the number is less, most women will have at least 8 and due to widespread of polygamy, males would have more. Until recently these toddlers had nothing to learn. Parents let free their children and left them to decide their own fate until they could hold a hoe.
But sooner or later this is changing. On a trampoline mat made up of wood and mud, small kids take turns to play their chances that require them to count, spell and get on with their fellow friends. Lively and joyful minds teach their mothers how to foster her child’s intellectual and social skills. It also helps them to work on issues like hygiene and nutrition. Cases of malaria and diarrhea have also seen a drastic fall.
This is just an example of multiple benefits that come along from putting your child to early childhood development(ECD). ECD is a term which includes everything that can be done to boost and encourage physical and intellectual health.
the youngsters are the main but not the sole beneficiaries. Many kids would fail to meet up with developmental potential because of avoidable deficiencies. The young brains are sensitive and whichever way their minds are molded they form the same picture in their minds. Though some stress is ok, too much of it tends to hamper their developments.
One of the landmarks programmes began in the early 80s when health experts visited Jamaican mothers to educate them about health and nutrition and made them learn about hygiene through play. Compared with mothers who had no such advice, children belonging to such mothers had a higher level of IQ, were less violent and earned 25% more at the age 0f 22-23.
For a better country, it is important to educate our children. Educating them is not the only motive, rather our motive should be to provide good education and nourish our children well. Employing small kids in households or dhabhas won’t fetch parents great benefits. When their children will learn to read and write, not only they would be in an advantageous position but also the country will grow.
Many franchisors are working towards this end, government authorities are offering incentives for poor parents who are unable to send their children to school. Providing every child with the opportunity to learn and write should be our only motive, whether it is done by sending our children to school or by VR headsets. Improving ECD can give millions of youngsters their lifetime shot.
